Joined by two musicians and two dancers, Brazilian singer/songwriter Giulia Drummond takes us through a ritualistic performance exploring the 22 Major Arcana of the Tarot. Expect an entrancing and intriguing experience, a magical journey through symbols and sonorities.

This show shines a new light on Peter Allen in his capacity as incredibly gifted composer/songwriter, while also showcasing Annaliesa Rose’s unique and diverse vocal expertise, with the fabulous musical director Daryl Wallis on keys. The repertoire includes a mix of well-known songs and hidden gems, in order to celebrate Peter Allen’s legacy as a composer.

Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a novice doodler, you can unleash your creativity and make your own pawsome masterpiece(s) to take home with you. Basic drawing materials provided, but feel free to bring your own.

Grace is kicking back for the summer holidays when her step mother orders her to go to her aunty Baba Yaga. Little does Grace know that Baba Yaga is a witch with iron teeth who lives in a peculiar hut and eats children. Grace sets off through the forest, kindly helped along by the audience, meeting strange characters on the way. The show is funny, quirky, charming and inclusive. Bring your coloured-in flyer or colour one in, for a prize, and make a wee puppet at the end.

Get ready for a night of side-splitting laughter, eye-covering cringing and poignant storytelling at Is This Normal?, the debut one-woman show from award-winning storyteller Ansa Edim. Often the “only one” – the only Black person, the only fat person, the only fat Black person – Ansa navigates the dating space with humour and resilience. Determined to represent women like her as more than just the fat, funny friend (though she is that too), Ansa’s unique voice and relatable tales make this show a must-see for anyone questioning what ‘normal’ is for them.

1926. Prohibition is in full swing, but you can still get a drink if you know where to look. Join the party at the illegal speakeasy run by notorious British crime duo the Fisher sisters and meet their ragtag collection of staff and regulars. Witness fights, rivalries and wrongdoings aplenty and, when the inevitable happens, follow the clues and interrogate the suspects to work out whodunnit. This interactive murder mystery event brings you a glamourous evening of suspense and sleuthing, 1920s dress encouraged.

Alexis Metallinos brings a unique blend of Greek heritage, weaving together the rich Italian and Spanish cultures at the Fringe. Ten mesmerizing guitar instrumentals evolve into complete songs with the addition of poetic Greek lyrics. Spanning from the elegance of the Italian Baroque era to the passionate rhythms of Andalusian flamenco, and from the enchanting Ionian islands to the vibrant landscapes of Thessaly, Alexis invites you on an unforgettable musical journey.

 

HOW TO FIND THE SPEAKEASY

Don’t tell anyone but… The Speakeasy is located on floor B3 of The Royal Scots Club in our Princess Royal Suite and can be accessed directly by our lift near reception at 29 Abercromby Pl. Alternatively, you can take the stairs from reception and wind your way down to floor B2, then take a left toward the next set of railing stairs down to floor B3.

If entering from 31 Abercromby Pl., you can take the portrait stairs down through to level B2, then take a right through the doors to the railing stairs to level B3.
