Step inside the world of opera and experience the extraordinary power of the human voice up close

Led by professional opera singer David Stout, Opera Unplugged – inside the opera voice is a fun, informal and interactive introduction to what makes the operatic voice so unique. Discover how singers produce such a remarkable sound, how breath, body and technique work together, and how emotion and storytelling can completely transform a performance.

This is not a traditional talk or lecture. Expect a lively, relaxed session where you can ask the questions you have always wanted to ask, hear live singing at close quarters and take part in some breathing exercises yourself. No musical knowledge or singing experience is needed — just curiosity and a willingness to join in.

Whether you are completely new to opera, have always wondered how singers do what they do, or simply fancy trying something different, Opera Unplugged offers a welcoming and entertaining way to discover opera from the inside.

Come along and experience opera in a completely new way.

Suitable for all ages.

He also makes his house debut at the Royal Swedish Opera as Figaro in Figaro Gets a Divorce, and appears on the concert platform with the London Philharmonic Orchestra in Vaughan Williams’ A Sea Symphony and with the Huddersfield Choral Society in Handel’s Messiah.
