ABOUT THE EVENT
Robyn Stapleton, a BBC Traditional Singer of the Year, partners the historian, and Club Member, David Purdie to trace the story of the Scots nation through its songs. For a thousand years Scotland’s history and music has intertwined the Norse of the Northern Isles, the Gaelic of the Highlands and Islands, plus Anglo-Saxon traditions into a heritage unique in Europe.
Songs of peace and war, ballads from border straths and highland glens, and songs of men and women: the Meeting, the Loving and the Parting. Robyn’s beautiful singing and David’s fascinating words are supported by glorious images of Scotland.
Buffet supper included in the cost of admission. Menu to follow.
